Become a Member of GCDG

The Global Center for Democratic Governance (GCDG) welcomes individuals who are committed to upholding democracy, secularism, social justice, and the spirit of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. If you meet the eligibility criteria below and share our values, we invite you to apply for membership.

Eligibility Criteria

To become a General Member of GCDG, an applicant must:

  1. Be a Bangladeshi national by birth, holding single or dual citizenship, or a foreign national with at least one Bangladeshi biological parent.
  2. Be 18 years of age or older and possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  3. Have no criminal convictions in any court of law, including but not limited to offenses involving arson, assault, intimidation, extortion, sex crimes, drug-related offenses, theft, dishonesty, or obscenity.
  4. Not engaged in any activities that may bring disrepute to GCDG.
  5. Demonstrate clear allegiance to Bangladesh’s history of independence and the spirit of the Liberation War. This must be verified and approved by the GCDG Council.
  6. Respect and uphold the objectives of GCDG and abide by its constitution.

Associate Membership

  • Individuals who do not meet the nationality criteria may apply to become Associate Members.
  • Associate Members enjoy all the privileges of membership except voting rights.

Special Appointment

  • The Council may appoint General or Associate Members from among subject matter experts and researchers with a demonstrated interest in GCDG’s mission.

Membership Terms and Fees

  • Membership is valid for one calendar year.
  • All memberships require approval from the GCDG Council.
  • Members and Associate Members must pay the annual membership fee within two months of approval.
