The Spotlight, Volume-1, Issue-8: The July 2024 Uprising in Bangladesh: Coup, Conspiracy, and Collapse
The eighth issue of The Spotlight offers a comprehensive and critical analysis of the July–August 2024 uprising in Bangladesh, challenging mainstream narratives and dissecting the political manipulation, foreign interference, and post-regime violence that followed. The issue explores how a seemingly youth-led movement for democratic reform was allegedly hijacked by anti-state actors and foreign-funded networks to orchestrate regime change. It scrutinizes the OHCHR’s fact-finding report, the role of USAID, international media bias, and the deterioration of civil liberties under the interim Yunus regime. Additional topics include the erosion of women’s rights, religious and minority persecution, and the rewriting of national history.
